A Maricopa man named John Wayne Dean Suddarth was arrested early Nov. 3 after a traffic stop near Alan Stephens Parkway and Tara Lane, according to InMaricopa.
Police said the stop began around 12:48 a.m. when officers found that Suddarth’s vehicle registration had expired nine months earlier. He then consented to a search of the vehicle.
According to the probable cause statement, officers found a silver container on the driver’s side floorboard that held two small bags of white powder and a tooter straw. They also reported finding another tooter straw and a used glass pipe under the driver’s seat.
The white powder from one of the bags tested positive for methamphetamine, officers said. Suddarth was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia.
