Three original members of Felt came together onstage last night at Glas-Goes Pop, marking their first performance together in decades, according to Stereogum.
Original drummer Gary Ainge, bassist Marco Thomas, and guitarist Philip King recently announced a new project called Feel, described as “the present tense of Felt,” which is set to perform instrumental versions of the band’s catalog.
For the Glas-Goes Pop appearance, they were joined by Martin Davies on keyboards and Andy Wellings on lead guitar. The set then shifted when Belle and Sebastian’s Stuart Murdoch and musician Rhadika joined in to sing “Primitive Painters.”
Rhadika later posted on social media that the night was especially meaningful to her, saying she grew up hearing Felt because of her father, Soup Dragons bassist Sushil K. Dade, and that the performance was an unforgettable experience.
