The cast of The Devil Wears Prada is back in the conversation as The Devil Wears Prada 2 streams on Disney+ and Hulu, according to E! News. The outlet also revisited several behind-the-scenes details from the original 2006 film.
Anne Hathaway said her daughters, Hazel and Violet, first watched the movie about a year ago, partly because their friends were interested in it. She added that her husband, John Krasinski, is a big fan of the film as well.
Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci all took part in the project, and Blunt said her family was able to travel with her during filming in Italy. That gave her daughters more time with their cousins, Tucci’s children Matteo and Emilia.
According to E! News, writer Aline Brosh McKenna said the movie’s production began before the book was even published. She also said the team had a hard time finding fashion-world sources willing to talk, and director David Frankel noted that many major New York locations were unavailable because of the film’s connection to Vogue and Anna Wintour.
Frankel said the production eventually recreated Miranda Priestly’s office with help from production designer Jess Gonchor, who secretly studied Vogue’s workspace. The article also says costume designer Patricia Field helped build the film’s wardrobe after some major designers were reluctant to participate.
