"Ted Lasso" season four brings Jason Sudeikis’ Ted back to Richmond, but the latest chapter does not bring the full original team with him. According to E! News, the new season centers on AFC Richmond’s women’s team, which means several familiar faces from the first three seasons will not be on the field.
The series does still connect back to the men’s team. In one scene, Ted visits the locker room and reunites with Roy Kent and the "Believe" sign, while jerseys for Dani Rojas and Isaac McAdoo can be seen hanging in their stalls, showing they remain part of the club.
Jamie Tartt’s future is also made clear. During a pre-season Q&A, a reporter asks Ted about Jamie leaving Richmond for Barcelona, and Ted responds that it is never easy to say goodbye to a player, but that he thinks Jamie will do well.
Other characters, including Nate Shelley and Sam Obisanya, have not had their status confirmed yet. Brendan Hunt, who plays Coach Beard and co-created the series, told Variety that bringing back the entire cast would not have fit the story or the schedule, and that if the team is thriving, some top players would realistically move on to bigger clubs.
