Taylor Frankie Paul is responding after leaked documents tied to a Utah Department of Children and Family Services petition drew attention online, according to E! News and reports from People and TMZ. The documents reportedly asked a court to find that her three children were “abused, neglected or dependent.”
In a July 19 Instagram video, the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star said there was “a lot of false information out there” and said she had not read the documents in full because she lived through the events they describe. She added that if anything is “way off or misconstrued,” it will be handled by her attorneys in court.
Paul said she had tried to keep the matter sealed from the start, explaining that she wanted the information kept private for the children’s sake. She said that request was denied and that she has made “a lot of progress in the court room.”
She also addressed specific claims in the documents, including allegations about therapy, saying she is “a huge advocate for mental health” and that her first therapist was not a good fit. Paul said she now has a certified therapist and a life coach helping her, and she denied claims that she has made her daughter take on too much responsibility caring for younger siblings.
Paul, who shares a 2-year-old son with ex Dakota Mortensen and an 8-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son with ex-husband Tate Paul, said she had her toddler with her for the longest stretch since Mortensen was granted full custody this spring. She said she believes her children would choose to be with her and said she loves them deeply.
