Sierra Ferrell has released her first new single of 2026, “Trying to Love You,” according to Rolling Stone. The Gabriel Kelly-produced track blends country, old-time music, and New Orleans jazz in a style that is recognizably hers.
Rolling Stone describes the song as a psychedelic love story that starts slowly before building into a more anthemic sound. Ferrell’s voice remains the centerpiece, with the article noting her powerful delivery and wide vocal range.
“Trying to Love You” has also been showing up in Ferrell’s Heavy Petal tour setlists. Her next stop is in Dillon, Colorado, on Aug. 11, followed by a second sold-out show at Red Rocks Amphitheater.
Ferrell has been touring behind her 2024 album Trail of Flowers, which won four awards at the 2025 Grammys, including honors for “American Dreaming” and “Lighthouse,” according to Rolling Stone.
