Shygirl has released her first single of the year, “Alyse,” according to Pitchfork. She wrote and produced the track with Karma Kid and JD Reid.
The song arrives with a six-minute, three-act video directed by Francesco Loy Bell and Oliver Bell. The visual opens in the middle of a story as two partners in a wealthy couple each discover the other’s affair, then builds to a chase through the streets of London.
Shygirl herself does not appear until near the end of the clip. Pitchfork says the video is now available to watch.
“Alyse” follows a busy stretch for the artist. Her only full-length album to date is 2022’s Nymph, and last year she released Club Shy Room 2 and Alias is Me, along with two singles with Eartheater, “Shark Brain” and “Dolphin.”
