Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell says his cancer has returned, according to Rolling Stone. Campbell shared the update during an interview with radio station YSKL.
Campbell first revealed in 2013 that he had Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and he later said it returned in 2015. He told YSKL that he became very worried in the winter of 2023 about how quickly the illness was progressing.
He said that led him to pursue a donor transplant, which he underwent in January 2025. Campbell said the treatment did not hold, and he is now continuing treatment to manage the cancer.
Campbell added that he may need another transplant in the future, but said he is not slowing down. He said he is staying busy with Def Leppard, the Last in Line, and rally driving.
Campbell joined Def Leppard in 1992 after the death of Steve Clark. Before that, he played with Sweet Savage, Dio and briefly with Whitesnake.
