The full tracklist has been revealed for a star-packed Shane MacGowan tribute album, according to Stereogum. The project includes performances from Tom Waits, U2, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Primal Scream and many others.
The album is titled 20th Century Paddy – The Songs Of Shane MacGowan and is set for release on Nov. 13 through Rubyworks. Its lineup also features artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Hozier & Jessie Buckley, Steve Earle, The Libertines and The Pogues.
The first single was announced alongside the tracklist. Kingfishr will release a cover of The Pogues’ 1990 song “The Sunnyside Of The Street” on Friday, July 31.
In a statement, Kingfishr said they chose the song because its lyrics become unexpectedly sad when listened to closely. The band also said it was an honor to be part of the tribute and to support the cause behind the project.
