Sen Morimoto has announced a new album, Time Is on Your Side, following the 2023 release of Diagnosis, according to Pitchfork. The Chicago singer-songwriter will put out the record on October 23 through Sooper, their own label.
Morimoto also shared a video for the song “Overthinker,” which invites viewers into the woods alongside the track. In a press release, Morimoto said they are no longer trying to fight time and now treat it as part of the creative process.
Morimoto said some of the songs came together quickly, while others had been waiting for years before finally making the album. They added that they hope the project encourages listeners to slow down.
The album includes contributions from several Chicago musicians close to Morimoto, including Kaina Castillo, Ryan Person, Elijah Bradford, and Brok Mende. Time Is on Your Side features nine tracks, beginning with “Leave It All Behind” and ending with the title song.
