Sandra Bullock is gradually returning to public life after stepping away from Hollywood following the death of her longtime partner, Bryan Randall, according to E! News. Randall died in August 2023 from complications of ALS, after privately living with the disease for three years.
Bullock had said previously that she wanted to pause work in front of the camera until she felt ready again. The article notes that she focused on home and family during her break, while continuing to care for her children, Louis and Laila.
Her reemergence has come in small steps. Bullock joined Instagram in April and later appeared with Nicole Kidman at CinemaCon 2026 on April 14, where she walked her first red carpet in 18 months and only her second since Randall's death.
Bullock is also returning to work on Practical Magic 2, due out in September. She has also spoken in recent months about her career and reunions with Keanu Reeves, including a recent podcast appearance tied to the 30th anniversary of Speed.
