Mychal Threets, the librarian and social media personality known as Mychal the Librarian, shared an update after spending five days in a psychiatric hold, according to E! News.
In a video posted to Threads on Aug. 22, Threets said he wanted to apologize for worrying people and explained that he had just returned from a five-day stay at the hospital. He said he had not been okay for a long time, but still had hope that he would get there.
Threets also thanked the doctors, nurses and mental health workers who cared for him, saying they saved his life. He added his gratitude to family, friends and supporters, and said it is okay not to be fine while people are struggling.
The update came five days after Threets said he planned to seek help for worsening mental health struggles. On Aug. 17, he wrote that he was not okay and was going to the hospital the next day, while saying he was safe in that moment.
