The Pulitzers and the American Library Association are launching a 20-city touring exhibit called “Pulitzer on the Road: Prize-Winning Works That Inform, Empower & Inspire.”
According to the Associated Press, the exhibit will begin in October at the Chicago Public Library and the Dallas Public Library, then travel to public libraries across the country through May 2028.
The display will showcase more than a century of Pulitzer Prize winners, including major journalism, photographs, poems, plays and fiction. Among the works highlighted are the Pentagon Papers, the Watergate scandal, the AP photo “Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima,” and writing by authors including Toni Morrison and John Steinbeck.
Barbara Kingsolver, Percival Everett and Daniel Kraus are among the Pulitzer-winning authors scheduled to appear, along with composer Gabriela Frank and photojournalist Jon Cherry, according to the AP.
Marjorie Miller, administrator of the Pulitzers, said the project was created to bring prize-winning storytelling and journalism to communities nationwide. American Library Association President Maria McCauley said the exhibit is intended to help visitors connect with work that encourages curiosity, conversation and civic engagement.
