Police in Narragansett, Rhode Island, say an overturned tractor-trailer spilled a large amount of squid into traffic on Sunday, forcing an intersection closure for about eight hours.
According to the Narragansett Police Department, the truck was hauling thousands of pounds of squid to be processed when it rolled over at the intersection of Point Judith and Galilee Escape roads. The department said a substantial portion of the seafood ended up on the roadway.
No injuries were reported in the crash. Crews used skid steers to clean up the spill, according to footage from the scene.
The driver was cited for driving with an unsecured load, police said.
