Nick Jonas says he once auditioned for Disney’s Frozen, but the tryout did not go the way he hoped. He shared the story on the Hey Jonas! podcast on Aug. 18 with brothers Kevin Jonas and Joe Jonas, according to E! News.
Jonas said he was trying out for the role of Kristoff when he was asked whether he planned to sing during the audition. He said he did not realize singing would be part of the process, and was then told to play a musical theatre song.
The Jonas Brothers singer, now 33, said the audition was “horrible,” though Josh Gad joked that Jonas had better chemistry with Kristen Bell than Jonathan Groff did. Gad also said he thought Jonas would have worked well in the role opposite Bell.
Even so, Jonas said he remains a big fan of the 2013 film and that his family has loved it for years. He added that he did not watch it out of spite after missing out on the part.
