The Ontario Provincial Police worked with several animal groups to rescue a mother cat and her six kittens after they were found living underneath a parked police cruiser outside the station in North Bay, according to UPI Odd News.
The discovery was made by a member of the OPP Forensic Unit, who noticed the feline family taking shelter in the vehicle’s undercarriage.
Police then teamed up with Pet Save, the local Humane Society and PAWS for a two-day effort to remove the animals safely and transport them to the Ontario SPCA.
According to the OPP, all seven animals are in good health and are expected to be available for adoption in the coming months.
