The promoter behind Oasis’ Live ’25 tour has been granted a licence to host gigs at Knebworth, which has intensified rumours of a possible return to the Hertfordshire venue, according to NME.
SJM Concerts secured the licence from North Hertfordshire Council, giving it the ability to plan and stage events at the site. The permission covers events for up to 125,000 people and allows live music to run as late as 3am.
According to BBC News, the licence took effect immediately and will remain in place indefinitely. SJM also works with other acts, and has previously organised shows for The Prodigy, Take That and Peter Kay.
The move comes 30 years after Oasis’ famous 1996 Knebworth concerts, which sold out in less than 24 hours and drew 250,000 fans across two nights. Liam Gallagher later played two solo shows at the venue in 2022, attracting about 170,000 people over the two dates.
Although the new licence does not confirm any Oasis dates, it arrives as speculation continues about more live shows in 2027. The band have also been teasing the possibility of further gigs, while Liam Gallagher has said Oasis would not tour again in 2026 at the earliest.
