Alfie Templeman has postponed a run of upcoming shows as he seeks help for substance abuse issues and depression, according to NME.
The indie artist was set to perform with Bastille at Dreamland Margate and also appear at 110 Above Festival in Leicestershire. He said on social media that his current mental state is making it impossible for him to play the scheduled dates next month.
Templeman wrote that he has realised how important it is for him to get serious help for the issues he has dealt with in recent years. He also said he was deeply sorry to fans who were looking forward to the shows and added, “Once I’m better you’ll see a lot more of me again.”
In response, 110 Above Festival said it was saddened by the cancellation and praised Templeman for putting his health first. The festival said it takes courage to recognise when help is needed and to speak publicly about it.
