Nogizaka46’s “Zehinioyobazu” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100, according to Billboard’s chart released July 29.
The song is the lead track from the group’s 42nd single, which came out on July 22. It also marks the first center performance for fifth-generation member Miku Ichinose.
In its first week of CD sales, the track sold 756,354 copies, helping it lead the sales ranking. It also placed No. 10 in downloads, No. 18 in streaming and No. 19 on radio.
The song had already spent five weeks on the chart through digital prerelease before jumping from No. 42 to No. 1 during the week its physical CD was released. Billboard said CD sales accounted for about 81% of the song’s total points for the week.
Nogizaka46 has now topped the single sales chart with 37 straight releases since “Girls’ Rule,” and “Zehinioyobazu” is the group’s 33rd title to reach No. 1 on the Japan Hot 100.
