Neil Young will return to the stage next month for two East Coast shows with Willie Nelson, according to Stereogum. The performances are set for Sept. 22 at Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Sept. 24 at Philadelphia’s Highmark Mann Center for the Performing Arts.
Willie Nelson & Family and Neil Young & Chrome Hearts will play both dates, with Ty Myers opening the shows. Tickets for both concerts go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. Eastern through the Neil Young Archives website.
The new dates come ahead of this year’s Farm Aid, where Young and Nelson were already scheduled to perform on Sept. 26 in Virginia Beach. Young had previously canceled a planned European tour with Chrome Hearts, saying he had decided to take a break.
Young made a surprise live appearance in May at a Vancouver benefit honoring his friend, Canadian environmentalist David Suzuki, on Suzuki’s 90th birthday. His most recent full-band show before that was last October, and next month he and Chrome Hearts are also set to release a new album titled Second Song.
