Mike Joyce and Stephen Street have announced a UK tour for 2026 to mark 40 years since The Smiths’ The Queen Is Dead, according to NME. The run is being billed as an ‘In Conversation’ series, with a special guest host joining them at each date.
Joyce, the band’s drummer, and Street, who engineered the 1986 album and later worked as producer on 1987’s Strangeways, Here We Come, will share stories, memories and behind-the-scenes details from the era. The events will also include audience questions, plus archive video footage and memorabilia.
The tour begins in Stockton on October 1 and continues through Manchester, Frome, Kidderminster, Leicester, Liverpool, Sheffield and Edinburgh before wrapping up in London on December 5.
Tickets are on sale now. NME notes that The Queen Is Dead previously topped its list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
