Amyl & The Sniffers have announced a new concert film and live album titled Truth Or Consequence, according to NME. The project captures a special one-off performance where the Australian punk band reworked their songs into stripped-back country versions.
The show took place at the El Coyote Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles, California, with the band joined by a group of friends. The set included two unreleased songs, a cover of Slim Dusty’s Lights On The Hill, and several fan favorites, though a tracklist has not yet been revealed.
The band described the film as “intimate, loose and full of fun,” and said it shows them “in a way audiences have never seen before.” NME reports that the film also includes candid behind-the-scenes footage.
Directed by John Angus Stewart, the concert film will get limited theatrical screenings in the UK, Ireland, Europe and Australia at the end of this month and into September. The accompanying live album is set for release on Friday, September 4, on vinyl and through streaming platforms.
