Michelle Yeoh says she bought Hunter Schafer a small helmet to wear after Schafer suffered a concussion while filming Blade Runner 2099. Yeoh shared the story during a San Diego Comic-Con panel on July 24, according to E! News.
Yeoh said she wanted to help protect Schafer while the cast was shooting stunts. She also praised Schafer’s work on what she described as the Euphoria star’s first major action role, saying she had not seen a more fearless action hero.
Yeoh added that Schafer was willing to do falls and tumbles during filming, which made her worry about whether the younger actress had enough padding or safety gear. Yeoh jokingly recalled telling Schafer, “Here, wear this.”
Schafer said she was excited to join the Blade Runner franchise and called the project a chance to try something new. She plays Cora, a human running from Blade Runners, in the Prime Video miniseries, which premieres Nov. 25.
