Massive Attack under investigation in Singapore after Palestinian flag display

Massive Attack are being investigated after displaying a Palestinian flag during a recent concert in Singapore, according to NME and The Straits Times.

The moment happened at the trip-hop duo’s show at The Star Theatre on Wednesday, July 29. Footage shared on social media appears to show two members of the band holding up the flag as the audience cheered.

According to The Straits Times, local authorities have opened an ongoing probe. The Infocomm Media Development Authority also reportedly said it is looking into a possible breach of licence conditions.

The concert promoter, Lushington, said it was aware of the reports and would cooperate with the relevant authorities. It also noted that the Singapore performance was the only date the band had scheduled in the country on this run.

NME also reported that Massive Attack removed a song from their setlist to comply with local laws.
