The Mac Miller Estate has released a new song called “Butterflies,” according to Rolling Stone. The track will be included on The Divine Feminine (10th Anniversary), which is set to arrive Oct. 2.
The anniversary edition will feature two additional previously unheard songs, though their titles have not yet been announced. “Butterflies” was produced by Taylor Graves and includes bass from Thundercat and trumpet from Daniel Hardaway.
In the song, Miller sings about a possible romance over a mid-tempo, atmospheric beat. Rolling Stone noted that the track centers on a love connection and includes lyrics such as “Better drive slow” and “Dream girl, you’re my make-believe girl.”
Along with the new single, the estate launched a new Mac Miller website created with James Musgrave and Kate Doyle for XXIX. The site is described as an interactive tribute to Miller’s life and music, featuring archival material shared by friends and collaborators.
The Divine Feminine was originally released in 2016 as Miller’s fourth studio album and included collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak, CeeLo Green, Ty Dolla Sign and Ariana Grande. The 10th anniversary edition is available for pre-order now.
