Joy-Anna Duggar is opening up about the age gap between her and husband Austin Forsyth, telling sister Jinger Duggar Vuolo on the Aug. 19 episode of the Jinger & Jeremy Podcast that the difference in their ages has not defined their relationship, according to E! News.
The couple has a four-year age gap. Joy-Anna said they first met when they were very young, explaining that she was 4 and Forsyth was 8 after his family moved from Texas.
She said their paths crossed less often after his family changed churches, but they later reconnected through shared activities with her brothers. Joy-Anna recalled developing a crush when she was 14 and he was 18, and the two eventually married in a televised wedding in 2017 when she was 19 and he was 23.
Joy-Anna also said marriage takes ongoing effort, especially while raising their children Gideon, Evelyn and Gunner. Jinger added that she understands age-gap relationships too, noting that her husband Jeremy Vuolo is six and a half years older than she is.
