Lucy Hale is mourning the death of her father, Preston Hale, who died on July 17 at the age of 68, according to E! News.
In an Instagram post shared July 20, the actress wrote that her father “suddenly passed away” and described him as funny, sensitive and deeply kind. She said he loved his family, his friends, his dogs, and his hometown of Milan, Tennessee.
Hale also said her father was proud of his farming career and remembered him as a “true Southern man” who enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and farming. She added that he always loved her and her sister without judgment.
The actress said her sister Maggie was with her in Los Angeles when they got the news, and she thanked her father for that comfort. Hale said her faith is helping her through the loss and wrote that she believes her dad will continue to send signs and stay with the family.
