Lil Tecca is headlining Fortnite Festival season 15, a collaboration he says feels like a full-circle moment, according to NME. The rapper said he has long been an avid Fortnite player and was excited to see his music featured in the game.
As part of the crossover, four Lil Tecca tracks — “Dark Thoughts,” “Ransom,” “Love Me” and “500lbs” — have been added as jam tracks. The event also includes Lil Tecca-inspired skins, items and weapons.
Tecca told NME that he started rapping as a child while trading jokes and diss bars with friends over Xbox Live voice chat. He said he often plays Fortnite solo zero build and likes the freedom the game gives players to customize their characters.
The rapper also pointed to the influence of video games on his music, saying last year’s album Dopamine drew from the soundtracks of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Fortnite Festival season 15 is live now and will run until October 31.
