Liam Gallagher has said that his Pretty Green clothing brand was “stolen” from him by “vultures,” according to NME.
The Oasis frontman launched the menswear label in 2009, with the name taken from The Jam’s 1980 song of the same title. In a post on X on August 15, he replied to a user who asked why he sold the brand by saying: “I didn’t sell it it was stolen from me by vultures who wouldn’t know how to dress a fucking salad let alone the youth.”
Gallagher did not identify who he was referring to in the comment. Pretty Green was bought by JD Sports after going into administration in 2019, with the sale handled by administrators.
The brand had been affected by the collapse of House Of Fraser the year before and was later sold to Mike Ashley’s Frasers Group in 2022 as part of a £47.5million package of fashion brands, according to The Guardian.
Gallagher previously said last year that he had not been involved with Pretty Green for years, after a fan asked whether he was still connected to the label.
