Leeds music venue TESTBED is due to reopen next month after a major overhaul, according to NME.
Founders Laura Wellington and James Abbott-Donnelly have overseen the project, which has expanded the venue from 10,000 square feet to 23,000 square feet and increased its crowd capacity to 2,500.
The redesign includes a new lobby, a 5,000-square-foot mezzanine, an upstairs bar and a balcony overlooking the main dance floor. Downstairs, a custom-built stage will support an immersive 360-degree crowd setup around the DJ booth, with a Room 2 reveal planned for 2027.
TESTBED will also feature a custom-built L-Acoustics L2 system, a large high-resolution LED video wall and an LED ceiling display. According to the venue, the upgrade also includes new toilet blocks, improved ventilation and air circulation, and a partnership with AMAAD and live music programmer Ghostwriter.
Full lineups and opening details are expected in the coming weeks, while TESTBED says it has built a reputation as a multi-purpose space since opening in 2021.
