Lake View Park is on track to become Maricopa’s Little League hub, according to documents obtained through a public records request by InMaricopa.
The park opened in February 2024 and already has two regulation-size Little League baseball fields. The proposed expansion would add three more fields, including one 300-foot field and two 200-foot fields.
In addition to the ballfields, the landscape plan includes two batting cages, walking paths, a playground, a parking area, ramadas, basketball courts, a ballfield seating area and a maintenance yard.
City of Maricopa Parks and Recreation Director Rocky Brown told InMaricopa earlier this year that the city had chosen a designer to help map out “rough ideas” for adding more ballfields to better serve Little League.
Right now, Little League activities are spread across Copper Sky, Pacana Park and Lake View. If the expansion moves forward, practice could be centered entirely at Lake View.
