Kristen Stewart is taking a more relaxed look at her time in the Twilight franchise nearly 18 years after the first movie arrived, according to E! News.
On the Aug. 14 episode of In Your Dreams With Owen Thiele, Stewart said the five films were made over five years and that people have continued talking about them ever since. She noted that it was difficult to view the project from the outside while it was still being made and released.
Looking back now at playing Bella Swan opposite Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen, Stewart said she can see how “tight” and “weird” the experience was. She also joked that in the first movie she was “such a pretentious little loser” because she kept trying to make the material feel very serious.
Stewart said she and Pattinson were trying to “elevate” the project, but now believes the performances were real in their own way and also “kind of campy and sick.” She added that the style fit the moment, especially for a story centered on teenagers.
