Maricopa voters have elected one City Council member outright in the July 21 primary, while three other races remain headed toward the Nov. 3 general election, according to InMaricopa.
AnnaMarie Knorr earned 3,846 votes, enough to clear the 3,790-vote threshold needed to win a council seat without a runoff. In a statement shared with the media, Knorr said she was grateful for the result and said voters showed her message resonated with them.
Four candidates — Tena Dugan, Henry Wade, Vincent Manfredi and Chrystal O’Jon — advanced to the November ballot. Meanwhile, Leach and Singleton said over the weekend that they were ending their campaigns.
In the other local races, Judge Patricia Glover held her seat in the justice of the peace contest by 48 votes, and Constable Bill Griffin won re-election over challenger Tim Nuanes by more than 1,100 votes. The results are still unofficial until the Pinal County Board of Supervisors canvasses the election on Aug. 3, according to InMaricopa.
