Kenzie Annis is pushing back on comparisons between her behavior on Love Island USA and finalist Sincere Rhea’s, telling Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper that she felt the two situations were not the same, according to E! News.
Annis said Rhea lied to Melanie Moreno and to other women and his male friends, while she maintained that she did not make the same kind of false promises. She acknowledged that she was dishonest about a secret kiss with Corbin Mims while with Caleb McDaniel, but said she did not exaggerate her connections with other islanders in the way she believes Rhea did.
“I never called them any names, [or made] fake promises,” Annis said, adding that she tried to be open about who she was talking to. She also said there was never a “Who’s better?” dynamic in her approach.
Annis said the reaction from other islanders felt “sexist,” especially because she believed she was judged differently than Rhea. She pointed to criticism from other female contestants and said that, looking back, she can understand more why McDaniel felt led on, adding that some of her own behavior was “s--tty.”
