System Of A Down's Daron Malakian jokes Oasis caused England's World Cup loss

System Of A Down guitarist Daron Malakian joked that Oasis was responsible for England’s World Cup semifinal defeat during the band’s second show at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, according to NME.

During the performance on July 15, Malakian reacted to reports that England had scored by leading chants of “I heard England just scored” and “Let’s go England” in the middle of “Dreaming.” He then told the crowd, “If you guys lose, I blame Oasis.”

England ultimately lost 2-1 to Argentina, after Anthony Gordon had given them an early goal and Argentina went on to secure the win. Footage of the band responding to the match result at the concert has since been shared.

Liam Gallagher later commented on England’s defeat on Twitter, saying Argentina were the “best team” and arguing that England will not win a World Cup until they become “street wise.” Oasis and System Of A Down have had a long-running feud dating back to the early 2000s.
