Kelly Osbourne is pushing back after Dee Snider criticized her late father Ozzy Osbourne’s songwriting, according to E! News. Snider recently claimed Ozzy rarely wrote his own lyrics, sparking a heated exchange online.
On Instagram Stories Aug. 14, Kelly said her father’s legacy as a musician, songwriter, singer and bandleader “speaks for itself.” She added that his friends, collaborators and millions of fans know what he contributed to music and what he leaves behind.
Kelly also took direct aim at Snider, saying there was something “spectacularly classless” about him diminishing Ozzy’s achievements after his death in July 2025. She wrote that Ozzy’s career stretched nearly six decades, from helping define heavy metal with Black Sabbath to building a major solo career.
Snider later responded on X, saying he had “nothing but love for Ozzy” and calling Black Sabbath life-changing for him. Kelly then fired back again, accusing him of using her father’s name for attention and telling him, “Keep my father’s name out of your f--king mouth.”
The dispute began Aug. 12 when Snider responded to an X post about bassist Bob Daisley and claimed Ozzy had bass players write his lyrics. Kelly and Snider continued trading posts after that, with Kelly saying her father did not need Snider’s approval to secure his place in music history.
