Kacey Musgraves has released a new video for “Mexico Honey,” the standout track from her album Middle of Nowhere, according to Pitchfork.
The clip was directed by Running Bear’s Alexa Stone and Stephen Kinigopoulos and filmed in Mexico. In the video, Musgraves sings her own song at a karaoke bar, where she meets a tattooed cowboy and the story leads into a steamy night in.
This is the second time Musgraves has performed karaoke to one of her own songs in a music video. Pitchfork notes that the first was for 2018’s “High Horse.”
Middle of Nowhere is Musgraves’ sixth studio album and the follow-up to 2024’s Deeper Well. Although “Mexico Honey” was not released as an official single, it is currently on the Hot 100 and reached No. 59 earlier this month, according to Pitchfork.
