Former Bachelor producer Julie LaPlaca is sharing new details about her brief romance with season 24 lead Peter Weber, including what she says his mother told her family, according to E! News.
Julie said the relationship did not begin until after Peter finished filming and got engaged to Hannah Ann Sluss. She recalled joining him for New Year’s Eve in Times Square while he was doing press, and said that was when their families met and people around them began wondering whether they could end up together.
According to Julie, things changed after Peter and Hannah Ann ended their engagement in January 2020. She said Peter’s mother, Barbara Weber, later told Julie’s father that she gave Peter and Julie her “full blessing” to marry and asked whether the families would make “the best in-laws.”
Julie also said fans began noticing social media clues that suggested she and Peter were more than coworkers. She told Hot Goss that the two were often together during production, which made it easy for feelings to develop, though she acknowledged the situation became complicated because of her role as a producer.
Peter later reacted to Julie’s memoir The Love Producer on Instagram, saying he had asked her multiple times to keep private details private. Julie, however, said she believes he was more supportive than that statement suggested and that, when they spoke years later, he told her he respected her.
