An Idaho man set a new Guinness World Record for the most consecutive flaming torch juggling catches on a unicycle, according to UPI Odd News.
David Rush, who already holds several Guinness titles in juggling and unicycling, said he had been overly confident when he went after the previous record of 37 catches. During his first try, he said the moving unicycle created a draft that pushed the flames back toward his face.
Rush said he quickly singed off his eyebrows and burned the hair on the backs of his hands during that early attempt. He later practiced with unlit torches and planned an official try for Halloween 2025.
After a couple of failed starts, Rush said he eventually found his rhythm on a third attempt and finished with 175 catches. Guinness World Records reviewed video of the effort and confirmed him as the new title holder.
