Ibiza DJ Santanna Oush identified after death at Houghton Festival

Tributes have been paid after police confirmed that the woman found dead at Houghton Festival in Norfolk was Ibiza DJ Santanna Oush, whose real name was Santanna Maria Ally, according to NME.

Police had earlier said they were investigating the death of a woman found unconscious in a tent on the campsite on the final day of the festival. She was pronounced dead at the scene on Sunday, August 9, despite efforts by on-site personnel to save her.

Officers do not believe there were suspicious circumstances. Festival organisers said they were deeply saddened by the death and thanked their medical team, event response team and Norfolk Constabulary for responding immediately.

According to Lynn News, an inquest has been opened at Norfolk Coroner’s Court and coroners said the provisional cause of death was suicide. Santanna Oush, who was London-born and spent years living and working in Ibiza, had performed with artists including Confidence Man, KI/KI and Kölsch.

She also co-founded the OuShe parties at Pikes in Ibiza, which celebrated women in music. Friends and fellow artists have posted tributes, while a JustGiving page set up to help with funeral costs has already passed its original target.
