Greta Lee is opening up about what it was like appearing in Taylor Swift’s “Opalite” music video, and she says the experience gave her a new appreciation for Swift’s creativity. In a joint interview with E! News and her The Last House costar Wagner Moura, Lee said Swift had a simple idea for the video and then made it happen.
Lee said she was amazed to watch Swift turn that concept into a finished production, noting that the singer wrote and directed the video herself. Swift also brought in several guests from an October appearance on The Graham Norton Show, including Domhnall Gleeson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Cillian Murphy, Lewis Capaldi and host Graham Norton.
The “Opalite” video uses a ’90s infomercial style and follows Swift’s Lonely Girl character as she discovers a product said to change lives with one spray. Lee appears in the video singing while MTV plays on a television in the scene.
Lee also said she has a lot of respect for Swift as a woman and for the way she can take an idea and turn it into action. Beyond the music video, Lee and Moura discussed their work in The Last House, where they play parents trying to survive after becoming trapped in their home with their two children.
