Goldenvoice, the company behind Coachella, has announced a new festival for Santa Monica called Ocean Way Festival, according to Pitchfork. The event is set for September 26 and 27.
The inaugural lineup is led by the Killers and Olivia Dean. Other acts include Jack White, Khruangbin, Sublime, Durand Jones and the Indications, Alvvays, SG Lewis, 54 Ultra, Hiatus Kaiyote, Blond:ish, Poolside, and a DJ set from Hot Chip.
According to the announcement, the festival will stretch across the beach between Santa Monica Pier and Bay Street. Its name comes from the street where Allen Sides founded Ocean Way Recording studios.
Santa Monica Mayor Caroline Torosis said in a press release that the city is in the middle of a renaissance and that the festival will help keep the community at the center of the action.
