Foo Fighters have been announced as the support act for AC/DC’s St. Louis concert on September 8, according to NME. The appearance will be a one-night-only switch after The Pretty Reckless were unable to play the Missouri date.
AC/DC said on social media that Foo Fighters will take a special detour from their own stadium tour to join the band for the show. The performance will bring together two major live rock acts for the St. Louis stop of AC/DC’s Power Up world tour.
Dave Grohl said the invitation was “literally a dream come true,” explaining that AC/DC had a major impact on him after he watched their 1980 concert film Let There Be Rock as a child. He said the movie first showed him the raw energy of rock performance and helped shape how he approaches live shows.
Grohl added that AC/DC’s music and stage presence pushed him to give audiences everything he has each night. Foo Fighters and AC/DC have not toured together before, though Grohl’s band previously brought Brian Johnson onstage for a performance of “Back In Black” at the 2021 VAX LIVE charity event.
