Flooding forced a closure of State Route 238 between Maricopa and Gila Bend on Monday morning, according to InMaricopa and AZ511.
The shutdown began shortly after 6 a.m. and remains in place in both directions between Ralston Road and State Route 85 in Gila Bend.
AZ511 says the road is expected to reopen around 1 p.m. Drivers are being urged to stay out of the area and find an alternate route until the highway opens again.
The Maricopa area received about 0.4 inches of rain, according to the University of Arizona Meteorological Network.
