A fisherman off the coast of Phuket, Thailand, rescued a monkey that was seen swimming in open water and appearing exhausted, according to UPI Odd News.
Video of the rescue shows the man floating a life jacket toward the monkey so it could reach the boat. He also gave the animal water from a bottle.
The monkey climbed aboard the vessel and was taken safely back to shore.
The rescue happened near Koh Maphrao, also known as Coconut Island. The man said the monkey may have swum from Koh Siray, which is more than three miles away.
