Fans invited to line Welsh streets for Bonnie Tyler’s final farewell

Fans in Wales will have a chance to pay their respects to Bonnie Tyler next month, after funeral arrangements for the singer were announced by her family, according to Billboard.

A celebration of life service is set for Monday, Aug. 17, at noon BST at Swansea Minster, St. Mary’s Church. The notice was shared by William Pressdee Funeralcare on behalf of Tyler’s family.

Two days earlier, on Saturday, Aug. 15, Tyler’s coffin will be brought back to her home in Mumbles at 3:30 p.m. BST. The public has been invited to line Newton Road from 3:15 p.m. BST as the procession passes through.

After the Swansea service, Tyler will make a final journey through Skewen, the village where she grew up, before a private family service. Tyler, born Gaynor Hopkins, died July 8 at age 75 in a hospital in Portugal after receiving treatment for an ongoing illness, according to her family.

The funeral notice described Tyler as a generous artist whose music reached generations, while her family asked for donations to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales and Cerebral Palsy Cymru instead of family flowers.
