Dylan Sprouse says a chance encounter with David Lynch was the moment that pushed him to quit smoking cigarettes, according to E! News.
On the Aug. 4 episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Sprouse recalled being at the Chateau Marmont with his wife, Barbara Palvin, and friends when he heard Lynch’s voice nearby and froze because he was such a big fan.
Sprouse said he went outside for a cigarette instead of approaching Lynch. While he was lighting up, Lynch walked into the smoking area and asked him for a cigarette, then thanked him after Sprouse handed one over and lit it for him.
He also recalled Laura Dern joining Lynch in the smoking section, and said Lynch later told him he was very polite. Sprouse told the podcast host that the moment was so memorable he decided, “I’ll never have a better cigarette than that in my entire life.”
