Leslie Mann is reflecting on how she handled motherhood when her daughters were young, and she says she now sees one part of it as a mistake. In an exclusive interview with E! News, Mann said she did not make time for self-care while raising Maude Apatow and Iris Apatow.
“When my kids were little, I didn't have self-care,” Mann said. “I didn't even know how to do it. I didn't even think of myself, because I just didn't—and that was a mistake. I think it's important to at least sleep.” Mann, 54, shares Maude, 28, and Iris, 23, with husband Judd Apatow.
Mann said things are different now that her daughters are adults, adding that she has more time to focus on herself. She also said she does not know how parents of young children manage it all, but noted that her daughters are “awesome.”
Mann made the comments while discussing her new film Spa Weekend with co-stars Isla Fisher, Anna Faris and Michelle Buteau. The movie opens in theaters Aug. 21.
