Delta Goodrem and Simple Minds provided the star power for the closing ceremony of the 2026 Commonwealth Games on Sunday, Aug. 2, in Glasgow, Scotland, according to Billboard.
Goodrem opened her segment by performing “Born To Try” and also greeted athletes into The OVO Hydro with a medley of her songs. She later sang “Eclipse” and “Warrior,” and posted on Instagram that it was a special moment celebrating the athletes and the unity of sports and music.
Goodrem finished her performance with Scottish artist Cammy Barnes on John Farnham’s “You’re the Voice.” The appearance marked her third Commonwealth Games performance, following shows at Melbourne 2006 and Gold Coast 2018.
Simple Minds closed out the ceremony with “Alive and Kicking” and “Don’t You (Forget About Me).” The event officially ended the 11-day competition, and Australia finished atop the medals table with 70 gold medals.
