Declan McKenna has announced a run of “live and intimate” UK warm-up shows ahead of his appearances at Reading & Leeds 2026, according to NME.
The singer-songwriter will play four grassroots venues in Scotland and England this month, marking his first headline dates in the UK in two years. The shows begin at An Seòmar in Inverness on August 20, before continuing on to Dundee’s Music Hall, Stockton-on-Tees’ Georgian Theatre and Stoke’s Sugarmill.
McKenna said he was “so buzzing” to share the news and described the gigs as “loud, live and intimate.” He added that the tour would include places he has never played before and said, “This one’s gonna be electric!”
After the warm-up dates, McKenna is set to play Reading Festival on Friday August 28 and Leeds the following day, where his set will take place on the festival’s newly revamped main stage, now called The Grid.
Tickets for the intimate UK shows go on general sale at 10am BST this Friday. NME also reports that McKenna is working on new music, following his 2024 album What Happened To The Beach? and a double A-side single released last October.
